Artist statement

Art is the experience of transformation and the transformation of experience. I observe, digest and reshape. I name, search for symbols, search for the universal truth within a detailed, selected experience.

Everything can serve as an inspiration. Everything is inspiration and art happens continuously. Not every experience is registered, but the process is an ongoing one. The process itself is priceless. Adding its registration, including the confrontation of the registration with people makes it multidimensional. Art is a multidimensional experience.

Art is authentic. Authenticity is the condition of existence. It's also an illusion. Paradoxically it has to be an authentic illusion. When confronting the truth we reach the heart of the matter. We expose ourselves. We cleanse ourselves. Illusion is a carrier, it transports the sensations located within art.

Art has to stimulate and relocate. Vibrate, pinch, touch. Art exists continuously. It is here and now, but refers to what has been and will be.

While working on subsequent projects I don't get attached to the form. The form is being chosen according to the subject matter. It's the subject that stimulates the use of particular form of expression. When I paint a series of painting, I rely on an instinctive sensation of a subsequent movement.

My work is based on the observation of the process and engaging in a dialogue with myself and the matter. My paintings are usually expressive and primary in their expression. They are meant to be the embodiment of freedom, the return to the unconfined self-expression. My paintings correspond with one another, but also correspond within the sphere of a single painting. One movement forces the next one. Sometimes I violently introduce a movement, which breaks the order, so that I can discover new value in successive movements. I care about a substantial emotional charge, both while I'm working and during the reception of my works.

Consecutive forms of expression result in new work system, however they undoubtedly have a common element being myself and my own way of seeing reality. My art is based on a continuous observation of reality. It's a search for meaning. A need for mystical experiences. A need to express, name and search. A need for a deep experience of life.
